Cohort three have completed their time on the Pathway to Employment programme and it once again has been very successful. Of the 19 enrolments onto the programme 14 of them have progressed into employment within the manufacturing and renewables sectors. The results speak for themselves to get over 70 percent of people into employment, it proves that the programme is working and as a team we are doing something right. We have given people the confidence to thrive and get back into employment”
The Pathway to Employment is a 10 week programme where you will be employed by Unity Training and receive training in:
• First Aid at Work
• IOSH Working Safely
• Manual Handling
• Fire Awareness
• Working at Heights
• Working in Confined Spaces
You will be supplied with basic Personal Protective Equipment, complete an intense workshop, working with the largest training provider in Hull to build upon your existing skills with hand tools within joinery and carpentry. You will then complete up to five weeks at a work placement with a Hull and East Riding based employer, to build upon work experience within the manufacturing industry (e.g. Caravan Industry, Double Glazing etc.).
This programme has no cost implications to the employers supplying work placements. At the end of the work placement if an employer wishes to provide employment to you, the employer may be able to receive a 20% wage subsidy for 12 months and also apply for further upskilling / qualification costs of 50% towards their training.
